Have you checked in with the Bag Month Flickr Group lately? There are some beautiful bags there, and more to be found in the Sew, Mama, Sew Flickr Group too! Here are just a few of the many bags we’ve noticed:

Bag by Rashida, I Heart Linen

It’s easy to see why Rashida’s blog is named I Heart Linen when you look at her beautiful bag. The pattern was inspired by a Japanese Zakka site and recreating the pattern was fairly easy for Rashida (though the pleats were more of a challenge). We think the pleats were a success! In addition to her blog you can visit Rashida’s Flickr site for more of her work.

Bag by Valerie, VM Jess

We love Valerie’s version of the Amy Butler Swing Bag. She primarily used Moda Uptown fabrics with a lovely result! Valerie sells some of her work via her Etsy shop, and you can look on her blog and Flickr site for further glimpses into her creativity.

Tote by India, Twelfthknit

India enjoys knitting, spinning and silversmithing in addition to her sewing. She used Leisl’s A Day in the Park Backpack Tote pattern (Leisl is one of our illustrious judges for the contest) for her tote. India writes, “I’m completely bowled over by the elegantly ‘simple’ design of Leisl’s tote. This is the first time I have seen a design and had such clear ideas about how I wanted my version to look. In addition, the design was so good I felt it warranted extra care and attention to do it justice…” You can find more of India’s work on her blog and her Flickr site.

Bag by Catrina, Bumblefunck

Catrina’s “Huge Bag” is her own design, destined for sale at a local craft event later this year. Catrina creates from home with her two young sons, and is planning on opening an Etsy shop later this summer. For now you can see her work via Flickr and her blog, Bumblefunck.

Are you working on some bags of your own? Be sure to add them to the Bag Month Flickr Group and the Sew, Mama, Sew Group too (along with pictures of your other sewing creations!).
