Introduction ~ Cathy

From Beth: Cathy has lots of fun with her design and fabric experimentation. We were thrilled to have her review Amy Butler’s Frenchy Bag to kick off a month of bag pattern reviews here on the Sew, Mama, Sew blog. Cathy shares her work from her home in Melbourne via her blog, Miss Marzie and her Flickr site. Read her introduction, then be sure to enjoy Cathy’s great review!

From Cathy: I am a SAHM to three school aged boys. Their ages are 14, 11 and 6. I am a self-taught sewer although my mum tried to teach me when I was young but I just wasn’t interested at that time. After my third child I was finally diagnosed with PND (or PPD). My self confidence was at its lowest. A few of the mums from school used to come over on a Friday and we started teaching each other what we knew about fabric, knitting, crochet, cooking and quilting. So my interest was sparked and my fabric collection started to grow. Now I know it is essential in my life and for my self-esteem. It has been a real privilege to be asked to do a pattern review for Sew Mama Sew.

Your bag is beautiful! Great job. I too am a self taught sewer whose mom is LOL about my sewing now and hating it in middle school.

    Thanks for the great review
