From Beth- Lara has really said it all below! She’s a busy, creative gal with a true love of sewing. It’s great fun to explore the various categories on Lara’s blog, thornberry. In addition to the beautiful clothes she creates for her daughters, she has everything on her blog from several great tutorials, to refashioning successes and fantastic crochet work. Lara reviewed Little Hip Skirts by Favorite Things for us, and has been sewing up a little hip skirt storm since completing the first one! Check out her introduction below and the pattern review.

From Lara- My name is Lara, and I live in Melbourne, Australia. I am married and have two daughters, a 4 ½ year old and a 3 month old. I have been sewing ever since my mum taught me at around 8 years old (over 30 years ago) and my 21st birthday present was my own sewing machine. When we recently extended our house we included a sewing room, complete with overlocker, sewing cabinet and plenty of drawers and shelves! Having a dedicated space means that even if I only have fifteen minutes up my sleeve, I can squeeze in a little bit of sewing, as everything is set up ready to go. My two daughters are the recipients of most of the clothing I sew, although the eldest is very picky about what she will wear – she likes to choose both the patterns and the fabric herself. I sew most of my own clothes, and I’m looking forward to putting a new summer wardrobe together if I ever stop sewing for the girls! I am currently on leave from my part-time job, although I still do the books for our family business. My children keep me very involved with the community through kinder and playgroup. When I’m not sewing clothes I’m doing crochet, sewing bags, sewing cot quilts, doing miscellaneous fabric crafts, embroidering occasionally, reading magazines and books, and reading sewing and crafting blogs – I’m addicted! It’s a good thing that we have a cleaner…
