Before we get to the free stuff, there are some exciting things going on here!

New Fabric

We received the new collection by Sandy Klop of American Jane, Look n’ Learn. If you enjoyed the bright colors and whimsical patterns of Building Blocks, you’ll love this new group. What’s more, they look great together, so if you still have some Ovals or Numbers, consider these coordinates!

Last week Beth, Lauren and I went to a fabric show in Seattle. While we were there we met Robin Mynatt, the designer of Paris Bebe Fabrics. She has put together some pretty, girly, old-fashioned prints. If you are a fan of Cath Kidston, trust me, you will love Robin’s designs. A wonderful surprise to us was that we got to leave the show with our bolts of In Your Dreams! (Ahhh, immediate gratification.)

Westminster has finally shipped all of the Nigella prints. They saved the best for last. We love, love, love the Grandiflora!

Tutorials Wanted

We have been working hard to plan the biggest and best theme month yet–November’s 30 Days, 30 Gifts to Sew. We have scoped out information on most of our ideas, but we’re still looking to fill some holes with your great tutorials. If you know of tutorials for any of these items, please let us know. If you’d like to put together a tutorial for any of these items, even better! Please email beth@sewmamasew.com. We need to have these wrapped up by October 29.

  • Door stop

  • Easy sewn hats

  • Neckties and bowties

  • Neck kerchief for a child

  • Head kerchief for a girl

  • Placemats

  • Chalk cloth mat

  • Shoulder bag variations

  • Sewing accoutrements (sewing machine cover, needle book, etc.)

  • Wall pocket (Not the kind you put in an office that is like a bulletin board, but the kind with floppy pockets that you’d hang on a child’s wall for stuffies or other toys.)

  • Patchwork kitchen towels

Create and Celebrate

Did you see the post on Wednesday? We are doing a new regular feature called Create and Celebrate to help spread the word about your swaps, sew-alongs, and accomplishments. Please see that post for more information.

Free Fabric Friday

Finally! Please comment here for your chance to win a yard of free fabric ($9.10 or less.) We’ll announce the winners Monday. Have a great weekend!
