SMS Five Favorite Sewing Patterns

Sewing patterns make great gifts.  Who wouldn’t love an Amy Butler pattern in their stocking, or a Favorite Things pattern tied up with some cuts of lovely fabric?  Here are some customer and staff favorites.

Amy Butler Barcelona Skirts
This is a tried and true pattern for an A-line skirt, a layered skirt and an apron overlay.  Sizes XS–XL (4–20) are all included.  Reviewed.

Britches and Bloomers by Jackie Clark
Here is a fail-safe pattern for kids’ pants, sizes newborn to 4T.  With lots of options for pockets and trims, this versatile pattern should be in the sewing kit of every mother of young children.  Reviewed.

Vanilla House Sunday Dinner Apron Pattern
This is a relatively new addition to our collection of apron patterns, but the feminine style and use of 3 fabrics have made this one an easy winner.  (Sorry, those went fast!  The Friday Night Apron is very similar. Will restock v soon!)

An Everyday Bag from Favorite Things
This is one of my personal favorites.  It’s easy, it’s a great size, you can do short or long handles, and the little exterior pockets are a lovely functional detail.  (Click to see my tablecloth version.)

Amy Butler Frenchy Bags
Of all the Amy Butler bag patterns, this has been most popular among our customers.  It is a super cool shape in a practical size.  Reviewed.

You can see all our sewing patterns from small, independent designers in our store
