Would you like to review a pattern?

on December 17 | in Etc... | by | with 23 Comments

Update: OK! Thanks for the tremendous interest! We’re no longer taking names but we’ll do lots of reviews in 2008 so there will be plenty of future opportunities. If you already sent an email we’ll be in touch in the next few days. Thank you so very much!

Calling all pattern reviewers…

We have lots planned for January here on the Sew, Mama, Sew! blog, including several pattern reviews of some of our new Amy Butler, Favorite Things and Vanilla House patterns. Pattern reviewers commit to sending us a review with various components and several photos of the completed project by a specified day. We post an introduction to the reviewer so lots of people can learn more, and the reviewer gets to keep the pattern. Browse through our pattern reviews to date for a better idea of the commitment (or if you’re in a hurry view Lara’s Little Hip Skirts pattern review for one great example).

If you’re interested…

Email: beth@sewmamasew.com
Specify: 1. January availability? Do you have any conflicts with completion deadlines of January 3, 10, 17 or 24? 2. Pattern preference? Do you have a preference for a bag, apron or clothing pattern?
Please also share: A blog link, if you have one, and any other information you’d like.

Thanks so much!

Do you accept Canadian reviewers? 🙂

I would be happy to review a bag or apron pattern, and could meet a January 10, 17 or 24 deadline.

    Thanks and happy holidays!

  2. Tiffany Mullins says:

I would love to test a pattern, this sounds so fun. I am open to any type of project and would be able to make any of last two January deadlines. Looking forward to this!

How much am I loving that Friday Night apron pattern??? Pretty darn much. Can’t wait to read a review before I attempt it. Thanks for the great blog.

    I’m up for anything!

  5. Becca says:

Ooo, too bad you’re not looking for more reviewers. I’d be good! I always mess up patterns, so if I can follow it without a hitch, it’s definitely well-put-together!

  6. Alana says:

Anytime u need someone to test a pattern, just lmk. Im always willing to give it a go. Ive sewn clothing, bags, aprons all before 🙂

Looking forward to more pattern reviews, you always pick the most detailed people who write the best reviews. Very helpful, especially to a newbie like me!

  11. I would LOVE to do an apron pattern – dates aren’t an issue so whenever you need it is fine for me!

  12. Julie says:

I would love to also. The only date that will be difficult is jan 3. I prefer bag patterns.

I tried to email you but it came back as user unknown.

  13. renee says:

i would be willing to do one. I would prefer an apron, then bag unless the clothing is kids then i’d like that first…otherwise clothing last. I’m no pro but it sounds like fun and i could use the challenge.

  14. Sheryl-lyn Walz says:

I can try anything you want me to. I prefer aprons or clothing, but have made bags and would do one for you. The January 3 deadline is not good for me, but the other dates are no problem. Looking forward to hearing from you and doing some special sewing projects!

  15. I would love to review one of the patterns. I have done a few review and people seems to like them because they are thorough. Since I am already receiving the Amy Butler patterns, I would love to review one of the other two options.

    1. I have not conflicts with the dates
    2. Order of preference would be bag, clothing, then apron patterns

  16. Susan says:

    Hello There,

I am willing to help anyway that I can. I am a newer, self taught, sewer but open to any and all projects. I have no problems with any of the deadlines in January.

I’d love to review a pattern! Like DJ above, I’m getting back into sewing after getting a new machine.

I would most like to do a bag or apron, but could also do clothing (preferably for a child). Also, I would have difficulty with the Jan. 3rd deadline as it’s so soon after Christmas (and I’m still working on my handmade Christmas gifts!) I would rate my sewing abilities as advanced-beginner to intermediate. I’m afraid of zippers, but I can overcome my fear. : )

  18. Ariana says:

    I could!

The dates work great…Bags and aprons? I will try anything…

I would love to be a tester for a bag oe apron.I have never tried clothing it could be fun if you don’t any testers for it.

I think the later two dates would work better.

  21. Dana says:

I would love to be a pattern tester, if they aren’t hard ones;)??? I am a realitivley new sewer, but have done quite a bit of sewing in the small time I have been sewing!

    Thanks for a great blog!

  22. Dj says:

I would love to help you out. I have no problems with any date except January 3 (happens to be the week of my anniversary as well as a basketball tournament).

I can help with a bag or apron pattern.

I am not new to sewing although it has been absent from my craft repertoire for a while. A new sewing machine has helped to eliminate its absence.
