Red Criss Cross
By Chawne, Cauchy09

Machine pieced by Chawne Kimber, machine quilted by Brenda Closson

Finished size: 61″ x 68″ with a 10″ square size

Pattern: Criss-Cross from the book Quilting Pieces of the Past, which is a reproduction of an 1850 red and white quilt

Fabrics: shirting for the cream and a Moda semi-solid red

Chawne adds, “This was a Christmas gift for my godmother in 2005. She really loves red and I love the antique look of red and cream together in any media, so this was a natural choice. It was one of the first quilts I ever pieced and helped me learn about the dangers of pressing biased edges the wrong way.”
