Pincushions
Pincushions by Megan, 100% philistine made

Megan deserves a Fat Quarter Award of some sort for making the most incredible selection of items with small cuts of fabric. She has a clean design sense and uses all of our fabric favorites. Be sure to check out Megan’s Flickr site and blog for great ideas. Visit her shop for some beautiful items to buy.

Megan made these little pincushions with a small 9-patch and a button in the middle. Make some with all of the little bits of fat quarters you have left over from a month of FQ projects!

Other pincushions we love. For related tutorials try here, here, here, here and here. Here’s an enormous pincushion Flickr gallery for more inspiration.

Share your pincushion links in the comments below, or point us to related tutorials and inspiration.

Have some fun with Fat Quarters! We’re giving away fat quarter packs all month long. Comment anytime this week to win one of 8 fat quarter packs (6 fat quarters per pack). This week’s FQ giveaway pack prints are predominantly… Green!

Add pictures of your fat quarter projects to our Sew,Mama,Sew! photo pool. Share your stash photos in our Fabric Stash & Storage pool.

  46. Laura says:

These are so cute. I had a thought. My daughter is in her twenties and just starting out, along with all her friends. I am amazed that none of them have the basic sewing notions to be able to mend a seam or reattach a button. A really cute and economical gift would be to make up a bunch of these and put together sewing baskets. A few buttons, some thread and needle and these adorable pinchusions with a few pins. Great. Practical gifts that will be used. Well, someday! LOL

  47. Lena says:
