Tissue Holders

Tissue holders are a nice way to add a splash of color to the mundane. They’re great to have on hand for small gifts, and they make a cold better. Really.

    I found the Vacuum Queen tissue cover tutorial through your Handmade Holidays 2008 link. I used it very successfully to help my 8-year-old sister make a bunch for Christmas gifts. They were amazingly fast, and a great chance to experiment with fabric/trim combos. And she loved giving something she helped make.

    I really like the trim (looks like twill tape?) on this version of tissue covers.

    I have made over 60 of these and they are sweet to keep and give. I like to make mine more ‘boxy’ by squaring off/boxing the corner (about 1/4″ will do it)–before turning right side out. I love seeing the variety of ideas for each subject. Thank you!

    I love tissue holders! As an allergy sufferer, I go through zillions of tissues and besides being cute as heck, tissue holders help keep those travel packs from exploding all over the inside of your bag. And the work to payoff ratio is great: you can zip one up in two minutes and add a lot of charm to a bag set:
