Introduction ~ Rae

From Beth: Rae has a Spring Ruffle Top Tutorial for us, coming up next. The top shares some of our favorite things about Rae’s sewing: great color, a little whimsy and a professional approach to putting the whole thing together. If you don’t already frequent Made by Rae you should!

From Rae: Rae grew up in West Michigan and learned how to sew at a wee age from her mother. After graduating with a science teaching degree from college, she maintained sewing as a hobby while teaching middle and high school science and math full-time for seven years. When she “retired temporarily” to stay home with her baby boy two years ago she picked up sewing and pattern design as a more serious pursuit. She spends most of her free time sewing and blogging about sewing at Made by Rae, and has a small Etsy shop (happy giraffe) where she sells handmade goods and sewing patterns. She plans to finish her Master’s degree in Multidisciplinary Science at Wayne State University this summer. She currently resides in the metro Detroit area with her husband and toddler.
