Jingle Ball by Laurraine, Patchwork Pottery

This jingly ball was made for a friend’s baby shower. Laurraine adds this important tip: “…Cut the shapes on the bias to end up with a round (not pumpkin-shaped) ball!” Speaking of pumpkins… Don’t miss these great coasters from her new PDF pattern (or these birds, or her tape measure group). Laurraine has lots of inspiring work made with small bits of special fabric!).

Do a google-search for ball ornaments or fabric ball. I found two that I liked (one was an 8-piece fabric beach ball – the purl bee, the other was a 6-sided one – grand revival).

So this is just a picture, not a tutorial? Very cute though.

  19. These make wonderful baby gifts. You can even bury a little bell or rattle in the middle of the stuffing for sound effects! I have made a rattle insert out of a little mint tin with metal paperclips in it. Just make sure it’s securely sewn up inside anything you give a baby.
