I used to make these kind of diapers for my daughter and I will be making them for my granddaughters. For an added idea, sew a couple of lines of lace ruffles across for a rumba frill diaper cover.

  2. Kara says:

I paid good money for some of these from American Girl. Grrr.. if only I had known how to make them back then. But seriously, they are a really fun way to help demonstrate the idea of wearing underpants for potty training to little ones.

  3. Erin H. says:

LOL—I’ve never imagined myself sewing dolls’ diapers, but my children would love a stash of these. Thanks for the inspiration!

  4. Jennifer says:

What a great idea! My girls use some preemie cloth diapers left over from their preemie twin days for their babies, but even those are a bit too big, so I think I’ll be making these!

  5. greeblygreebly says:

Excellent idea, use up the scraps and no more naked dolls!

  6. suzi says:

Great idea! I actually make diapers for my own child but these would be great for their dolls. Maybe I will use the scrap fabric from the baby’s diapers to make a doll diaper to match.

I haven’t seen a Cabbage Patch for years! I remember the scary line-ups of frantic mothers at Zellers (the Canadian version of K-mart) 30 years ago at Christmas time all vying for a CPD.
