Do you love to sew? Do you love fabric? Do you love Sew,Mama,Sew!? We’re looking for a few great sewists!

Please send us an email if you’re interested in contributing a tutorial, pattern review or if you’d like to be a board member in 2010. You can look under “Tutorials & Projects” & “Pattern Reviews” in our left sidebar for past examples. Board members help plan our theme sewing months and also develop tutorials for the blog over roughly a two month period.

Subject line: 2010

  • What would you like to help with? Tutorials? Pattern reviews? Do you want to be a board member?
  • Please share relevant URL links (Blog? Shop? Flickr stream filled to the brim with crafty projects?).
  • Feel free to fill us in on why you’re the best sewist for the “job,” and let us know if you have any big timing issues (i.e. You’ll be traveling in August, etc.).
  • Let us know if you have any great sewing strengths/interests (i.e. You’re the queen/king of embroidery… You love to make bags, etc.).
  • If you are able/willing to create videos, we’d like to know that too.

We won’t be able to respond to everyone but we truly appreciate your email. We’ll keep all of the emails and you might just hear from us as the year progresses. Thank you!

Sounds like you have alot of good people willing to help, please add my name to the list. While I am a busy mom working full time, I always find time to sew. I have made my own things, but I love trying out new patterns. I’d be particularly interested in your pattern review section. Check out my blog, specifically under sewing projects and you’ll see some of my work. I think I’d bring a good perspective for those who want to know what works and what to do to make it work. I can’t tell you how many times I google a pattern just trying to find out feedback before I dive in, this would be so nice.

    Its all about having fun!

Hello, I would love to help out anywhere you need me. I love to sew and do machine embroidery. I have been sewing all my life and love to made tons of bags, clothes for my girls and home decor. I would love to do pattern reviews and some tutorials.

Hi, I am a quilter, a sewist for most of my life and currently love to sew bags. I would be interested in being a board member or help develop patterns and tutorials. I have written patterns for quilts and bags and helped my mother develop and write patterns for her fabric designs.
My shop is located at where I have a couple of patterns available amongst my bag creations or my blog is at, where I have posted a bag tutorial.
Thanks for your time and consideration!

A pattern review sounds like fun! I love to make hip and stylish accessories for little ones and their mamas. I also sell ebooks on almost all the items I make, so that people who are starting off like I did (didn’t know what in the world a bobbin was, and refused to take a sewing class), are able to start sewing fun items right away, with very little experience needed.

Here’s my site, and if I am so lucky to be chosen, I would be available when needed, so please, choose me 🙂

I’d love to do pattern and book reviews and test out tutorials. I am usually the guinea pig at work to design and test out new process or programs because I anticipate how directions will be received by readers and provide revisions to clear up problems.

I have sewn for ages for myself and my children with lots of home decor and softies too. I am from Canada and participate in several swaps. Recently I have been concentrating on quilts which I really enjoy. I adore fabric. I’d be happy to be a board member too.

  8. Hi Sew, Mama, Sew!

I would love to review patterns and I could contribute tutorials too. I have been sewing since preschool and have 40+ years of experience.

My specialty is recycling textiles into new, useful and attractive items. I especially like to sew bags and purses.

I’d love to be a part of the team. I’m a self taught sewist, mostly learning from Japanese sewing patterns. I started sewing clothes for baby girls when I had a daughter in 2005. I opened a shop on Etsy, plainly jane, to sell the what she couldn’t wear.

For me, part of creating is a three step process.
    (1) finding supplies. I try to find materials by thrifting vintage buttons and supplies, creating my own felt using wool sweaters, using linen from vintage table cloths, and seeking out feed sacks and vintage fabrics. I try to use exclusively natural materials.
    (2) making. In addition to sewing, I’ve taught myself a number of techniques including embroidering, needle felting, wet felting, spinning, knitting, linoleum printing – experimenting with almost anything I can get my hands on. I create my own patterns for kids toys as well.
    (3) sharing. I discovered blogging and Flickr as a way to share the things I’ve made and the process by which I’ve created them. I enjoy writing about and discussing projects as much as I enjoy creating them.

I am a stay-at-home mom, formerly a full-time landscape architect so have some time to devote to projects during the week. I will be traveling at the beginning of august, but only for a week or so.

    Thanks for the consideration.

I’m a new sewer & quilter, which might offer a fresh perspective on tutorials & pattern reviews, both of which I’m interested.

My 2 year-old is the benefactor of most of my sewing. My emphasis is quilting but I can also sew clothes, bags, and household decor. My favorite thing to make is pillow covers.

    Thank you for considering me!

What a lovely thought! I would rather enjoy taking part.

I love to sew and while I have a good breadth of experience, I do adore a project that I turn out quickly. Clothing and items for children or home are my favorites.

Feel free to visit my blog at:

Categories of “sewing,” “stitching,” and “selling” will take you to snapshots of my work.

I love to sew, and also enjoy putting together tutorials to help others. I am beginning to develop my first patterns, as well. I try a bit of everything, but my focus lately has been on children’s patterns, including bags, bibs, and clothes. I tend to create things to fill needs in my own life. I would be available after mid March, as I am finishing up my doctoral program and graduate March 6. You can see my work on my blog, and in my shop
Although I’ve only been blogging since June, I’ve been sewing since I was 5.

    Thank you for the opportunity.

I’m in the middle of a sewing binge right now. I’m mostly a fiber artist who works in embroidery. I’d be willing to help test tutorials or review patterns.

  14. Rae says:

I would love to be a test sewist of patterns or to review patterns. I sew for myself, grandkids and i love to make bags and aprons.

  15. Stacy Gill says:

I am interested in sewing. I love to sew childrens clothing and bedding. But I am not limited to these. Pattern reviews would be fun. I have been sewing for a long time and teach sewing to young girls each Friday and also teach beginning sewing at the quilt store I work at. I don’t have a blog but I can send pictures of projects.

Thanks so much for the consideration.

I would love to be a part of Sew, Mama, Sew. Pattern reviews or book reviews would be great. You can find some of what I do at this link: I also have a blog: I have been sewing for around 45 years and love to do children’s items. I especially love to do hand embroidery using vintage patterns. I crochet, embroider, sew, and love applique. I do applique name shirts for children through my brick and mortar shop, sugarbump’s. Our website is: I basically sew everyday on something. I am a grandmother of 6, 5 of whom are girls, so I do a lot more for girls, but I do make lots of pants with appliqued shirts for boys.

Thank you for considering me. PS – I love your site and have been following you for quite some time.

  18. I would love to do pattern reviews. I love to sew baby and childrens clothing and toys. I also enjoy sewing for my older girls and myself. I also love to quilt. I do have a new baby and 7 other children, so I would need 2 weeks to finish a project. I listed my blog Puddinpop on the website. You can see finished projects there and also on my flickr page.

Just wanted to say that I love Sew Mama Sew, I check the blog everyday for inspiration : D

    Thanks for your consideration.

I would love to help out with reviewing patterns or even book reviews. I actually am a full time teacher, so my best time for sewing will be during the summer months (May through August). I also do loads of hand embroidery so any patterns that might have to do with that would be my greatest interest. I’m sort of an all around seamstress, although my love is garments and anything hand sewn.
My blog is on hiatus for a few months while I focus on my full time job, but I do update my flickr stream regularly. You can find that here:

    Hi there SMS!

Would love to help with pattern reviews and/or be a board member

    My links are:

I’m a keen sewer of children’s clothing and accessories in particular and have also started to develop a small range of patterns so am investigating lots of kids clothing related sewing methods and issues.

    Will be travelling in June!

    kind regards
