From Vanessa: Hi there– My name is Vanessa Christenson and my website is www.vanessachristenson.com, also known as V and Co.

I’m a stay at home mother of 4 little ones, three boys from 10 to 6 and a 3 yr old daughter. I started my blog right around the time my husband was getting deployed to Afghanistan for a year tour overseas. I wanted to stay connected with friends and family and also let my husband see what we were up to as he left us behind in our new adventure of moving from the city to living in a small town of 500 with a couple of farm animals. I started to write of the projects I was doing around the house and about the “hilarities” of having farm animals as well as being a single parent. As the year progressed and as I started to write more about my projects and of parenting I ventured out and started my Etsy shop www.uptownjane.etsy.com, “A big city girl living in the country.”

You can also see my projects at the www.modabakeshop.com, where I am a re-occurring contributor and create free tutorials using Moda pre-cut fabrics.

As my husband has now been home for a year, I continue to write about my crafts, decorating, the “hilarities” of parenting… And now the “hilarities” of being married. My motto in life is “if you can’t laugh about things…things just kind of suck sometimes. And who wants that?”

I am super excited for this opportunity that Beth has given me to contribute here at Sew,Mama,Sew!, and even MORE excited to show you my tutorials I created for you!
