Work Quilt #2 by Victoria, The Silly BooDilly

We’ve featured Victoria’s amazing work before on the blog. Victoria writes, “…The quilt is part of an on-going series of mine titled ‘Work Quilts’, and was inspired by old, patched utilitarian quilts. It is both machine and hand quilted, and the hand quilting was inspired by the patchwork stitching found on quilts from places such as India and Pakistan. (The thread used for the hand stitching is Sulky® Premium 100% Egyptian Cotton Thread).”

Learn more about this specific quilt and see additional views and detail shots at The Silly BooDilly. See the entire collection of Victoria’s “Work Quilts” here, and don’t miss the rest of her beautiful quilting; she has a stunning group of quilts.

Victoria’s quilts are breath taking. I am a knitter but subscribe to Whip Up and have been astonished by the quilts during “mini-quilt’ month. I know quilts are truly an American art form, however I didn’t realize that present day quilt makers possessed this same ability to move me emotionally.

I don’t understand why but when I look at these quilts they take me to an old place while I am standing in the new.
