Book Giveaway ~ Whip Up Mini Quilts

Kathreen Ricketson from WhipUp.net has collaborated with some of our favorite sewists to create Whip Up Mini Quilts; Patterns and How-to for More Than 20 Contemporary Small Quilts. There are a wide variety of mini quilt looks represented in the book, with lots of how-to instruction and visual inspiration.

    I love anything mini, especially mini quilts! The first quilt I ever made was a mini quilt because it was the only way I could ever get over that feeling of “this is too enormous ever to finish!” Once I was done, I loved that feeling so much, I went and finished a quilt that had been 3 years in the making! (It only took me a couple weeks to finish it, and it hadn’t even been pieced yet!)

    My first attempt at a quilt was a mini quilt! (may sound odd, but I made a small quilt to go on her headstone that said “mom” and was made out fabrics from her stash…I taught myself to sew using her machine after Brain Cancer took her life….)

    Ohhh! Mini quilts! I LOVE quilts. I finally decided to take the plunge and made one a few months back for my DD’s bed. I love it and it was worth all of the hard work. I have plans for more, I just can’t stop refashioning clothing to get back into it! lol

    OH! the perfect instant gratification item…..a little quilt! They are so much fun…..when I started quilting, I made a bunch cuz that’s how I learned to do the stitching, without getting overwhelmed with all the hand stitches needed to finish an item.
