Pattern: Socialite Dress
Fabric: Anna Maria Horner Garden Party collection fabric

Rendy writes, “The dress is an Anna Maria Horner pattern, the Socialite Dress. The fabric is Anna Maria Horner from her Garden Party line. As far as tips go, in order to make the sleeve I traced the shape of a sleeve I liked on a shirt and then worked with the shape/size until it fit into the dress. I used muslin for my ‘practice’ sleeves so that I didn’t waste my beautiful fabric.

The little jacket was a pattern I made. Again, I used one of my daughter’s store-bought jackets as a guide and then adjusted it to my liking. I created an asymmetrical collar and off-center closure to give it some flair. I lined the jacket with Amy Butler fabric so that it is fully reversible.”

OK, you’ve further pushed me over the edge to try sewing something for myself. I am a crafter and a quilter but not a clothing seamstress. However, with birthday money I have invested in an Amy Butler Barcelona Skirt pattern to try. We’ll see if I can enter the challenge with it.
