Sewn by Amanda, little cumulus

Pattern: 20-Minute Skirt Tutorial
Notes: Amanda writes, “I cut the fabric to be about twice my waist measurement; with 1.5x it doesn’t allow for as much movement as I would like towards the knees. So far I like the 2x a lot. I also zigzagged the fabric to the elastic right sides together, instead of the way suggested in the tutorial– I found it easier that way. I used the existing hem of the sheet, which made the whole thing that much faster (yay, I hate hemming!).”
Fabric: Amanda continues, “The skirt is made from a vintage sheet (I have a ginormous stash of them that I use to make clothes for my Etsy shop… I keep them all in our walk-in closet, which my husband only half-jokingly calls my ‘office’). I love sewing with vintage sheets; they’re soft, bright, cheap, funky, and never shrink or wrinkle.”
