Sewn by Claudia, Aux Petits Oiseaux

Claudia’s dress looks perfect for summer! Isn’t it wonderful? We love the buckle she made and added too… Claudia included some pattern details for you:

Pattern: Burda 7517 (view A)

Material: Lightweight cotton

Pattern Alteration Note: I fell in love with this pattern because it has a nice little vintage style… Not too much, just enough! I didn’t make any alterations to the pattern. However, without a belt or a ribbon, I personally found that there was something missing! So, I took some grosgrain ribbon and a vintage “mother of pearl” buckle, made a belt and sewed it to the back of the dress.

Fabric Note: I recommend lightweight cotton or linen. I think that it would also look beautiful in lightweight dark denim (a personal favorite). Since the dress is, according to the pattern, not double, make sure that your fabric is not see-through. Have a nice summer!

Material: A heavy cotton fabric with the weave and texture of burlap.
