Welcome to a week of Christmas in July! Beat the heat with thoughts of holiday cheer all week long. Create an early gift with your needle in hand, and toes dipped in the pool!

This week we’ll share several exclusive projects from the upcoming Fa la la la Felt: 45 Handmade Holiday Decorations by Amanda Carestio, with interviews and tutorial links from many of the talented contributors to the book. Fa la la la Felt: 45 Handmade Holiday Decorations releases this August from Lark Books but you can win a copy this week!     Love the toadstools! The best thing about working with felt is the hand-sewing aspect. There’s something so easy and satisfying about having a little project to tuck in a purse to work on when waiting for something…it makes me look forward to those little moments when I HAVE to wait!     What great timing! I’ve already started my Christmas present pile for this year, having resolved to stop waiting until November, rushing, and ending up stressed and not enjoying Christmas at all. My plan is to be done with Christmas presents by September, so I can move on to Halloween costume construction (I think this year will it will be a princess gown for my little bean), and then November and December will be open for stringing popcorn, baking cookies, and last-minute stocking-stuffers and cuddling with the family, watching Christmas movies. Ah, Yule. Yeah, that’s right, I said Yule 🙂 Bring on the Tidings.
