Hello, Fall!

I am happy to share my pattern for the Flip Side Pillow with Sew,Mama,Sew! readers. This is a design that has been swirling around in my mind for months, contrasting two complementary fabrics using grommets and ties. This project is appropriate even for beginners and can easily be customized to suit your décor-– so what are you waiting for? Choose a few bold fabrics, rev up your sewing machine and in about an hour you will be able to rest your head on your own Flip Side Pillow.

This month I worked with the Logan collection by Vicki Payne, a home dec fabric by Free Spirit. I chose Ticking Lime and Blossom Lime prints which, like all the prints in the Logan collection, are bold and crisp and perfect for our sunroom. For the lining and straps I used the Essex Linen/Cotton in White, which works well with the home dec Logan fabrics.

By incorporating grommets and ties, you can easily change the look of your pillow-– and the pillowcase can also be removed and thrown with the wash when needed. (You could also easily substitute buttonholes for the grommets, if you wish.)

I hope you enjoy making a Flip Side Pillow combining prints and patterns that complement your space. As always, if you make anything with Logan collection by Vicki Payne for Free Spirit fabrics or using any of our free patterns and tutorials, please show off your creations in the Sew,Mama,Sew! photo pools. Enjoy and happy making! xoxo
