This is going to be a challenging year. My resolution is to keep my head above water! Happy New Year and Peace back to you, as well!

In the past I have made resolutions, only to break them or give up on them by about February. This year I have decided to make more of a “Goal List”…things I want to do to better myself, sort of as a way of becoming more well rounded. πŸ™‚ One of my goals/resolutions for 2011 is to become a more confident and experienced sewer. I just got a new Janome machine for Christmas and prior to taking it out of the box, I had never even touched a sewing machine before! This week I have made 3 scarves and I am planning on making some fleece mittens for myself today (I have a broken finger and my bare hands have been freezing long enough!) Other projects on my agenda included: a new dog bed for my chihuahua, a cute scarf (for looks, not warmth) and a t-shirt quilt of my old running shirts. I also daydream about the day when I can make handmade purses/bags to give friends and family as gifts. Oh the places I can go…once I become more experienced as I sew! πŸ™‚

  496. I like the Greenfield Hill by Denyse Schmidt b/c I don’t have anything like it already. Plus, I’ve never made anything with voile before.

I don’t really do resolutions, but my goal is to become a runner. I’ve been using the Couch to 5K application on my iPhone…not bad. I want to get healthy and have an active lifestyle before becoming pregnant again: I’ll need the energy if the 2nd is anything like the first.
