From Beth: Julie Herman of Jaybird Quilts is a rising star of a designer with lots of beautiful patterns and really generous selection of free tutorials. She’s up next with a Pillow Basics post to teach you everything you need to know about how to create a pillow. First, be sure to click over to Jaybird Quilts to take a look at Julie’s amazing quilts and more!

From Julie: I started sewing in 2002 and started blogging in May of 2009. The goal when I started my blog was to share my quilts and have a journal of them. Since starting my blog I’ve been published in many magazines and I stared my own pattern company. I also have done many free online tutorials. Every other Friday you can find me over at the Swatch & Stitch with my column called A Little Birdie Told Me. In addition I’ve also contributed to the Moda Bake Shop and will be featured in Fresh Fabric Treats which is being published by Stash Books in May 2011.
