We kept money in a family fun money jar and hubby was out of town so we decided to go and hang out.

You know how some of those bingo ladies can be – they are regulars, assigned seating, and everybody that isnt present each week is an outsider and doesnt deserve to win their money. I was definitely an outsider having played their 3 times in 8 years.

Well, my son and I ended up calling bingo 4 times that night. The money pots weren’t huge but not only did we put the fun money back in the jar, we got free dinner, free entertainment, and left with around 110 dollars each in Christmas spending money!

I remember it was so frustrating to dial out over and over when I would get a busy signal (because of course, back then I didn’t have a cell phone. 843. Hmmm… the best thing I ever won? Well, unfortunately I have never won a giveaway in the blogosphere, but in “real life”, I have won everything from a jar of candy corn (a fabulous prize when you’re a second grader) to a scholarship to grad school overseas (a fabulous prize for a 22-year-old) to a half-day cooking course at the Cordon Bleu with my husband (fabulous prize for parents who don’t get out much). Still 25 FQs would be really excellent!

  844. Laura says:

Hmmm… I don’t win very much in the way of doorprizes and giveaways but the thing that got the most use was a tape player I won in Grade 3 (or 4?) as part of our fundraising efforts at school! If I win this though that tape player will be bumped from first place. πŸ™‚
