Crafter, stylist, and sewist Nicole Blum lives in Western Massachusetts, where she celebrates the happy accident and the raw edge. She explores the joy of turning inexpensive jersey yardage, canvas, and upcycled thrift scraps into gorgeous, stylish garments and goodies for family and friends of all ages (dogs too). This penchant for fast, forgiving, and fuss-free DIY is what inspired Nicole and her friend (and FamilyFun senior editor) Debra Immergut to write Improv Sewing: 101 Fast, Fearless Projects, their book from Storey Press, forthcoming in Spring 2012.

Nicole blogs about sewing, crafting and the good stuff of life over at One Golden Apple. Nicole would also love to announce that she and Debra are launching their new blog over at Improv Diary, where they will post thoughts and tutorials about the fun of freeing yourself up to be truly creative and make really cool stuff.
