Sew-Along Materials Requirements

Several people have mentioned that they would like to use the current newsletter coupon to get their supplies for the sew-alongs that start this week. Here are the requirements from each of the designers. More detail will be provided in the first post for each sew-along this week.

Christmas Tree Pants by Monica Solorio-Snow(Fridays)
Finished tree pants:

1½ yd. white solid
1 yd. red solid (½ yd for stars, ½ yard for binding)
1¼ yd. backing fabric
44″ x 44″ batting

1 yd. white solid (½ yd for stars, ½ yard for binding)
1¼ yd. backing fabric
44″ x 44″ batting

In a Pear Tree Advent Calendar by Linda Feldman(Wednesdays)
Background (yellow dots): 3/4 yard
Liner (behind yellow dots): 3/4 yard
Binding: 1/2 yard
Scraps can be used for all other pieces.
Stabilizer: 3/4 yard (need 24″ square)
Fusible Webbing: 2 1/2 yards
Ribbon for hanging: 3/4 yard

Color Block Placemats and Napkins by Elizabeth Hartman (Mondays)
1/2 yard each of 4 different print and/or solid fabrics for patchwork
1 yard neutral solid fabric for patchwork and napkins
3 yards bold solid fabric for napkin and placemat backs and placemat binding
4 pieces of low-loft cotton batting, each 15” x 20”
(This can be cut from a “craft-size” 34” x 45” package)
Thread for piecing patchwork, topstitching napkins, and quilting and binding placemats
(Don’t hesitate to use the same thread for all steps. 100% cotton is recommended.)

    I think I will join the holiday sew along. It sounds like fun and I need some new ideas for the holidays. I will start with the tree skirt I think.

    Ooh, I think I want to do the scrappy version of the tree skirt, I love the idea of having it be a little more colorful and bold! I also really want to make the place mats into a table runner (just planning to piece them and then sew them in a row) and the advent calendar, maybe, as a wall hanging without the little flaps since I already have an Advent calendar. I’m so excited for this sew-along!! 🙂
