Call for Submissions ~ Fat Quarter Projects

on March 23 | in Contributors | by | with 4 Comments

We’re looking for fun, innovative fat quarter projects to feature on the Sew,Mama,Sew! blog in April! If you have a great idea for a new, unpublished (on your blog or elsewhere) tutorial using fat quarters, email us ([email protected]). We still have some room so we’re open to ideas through the weekend. We’re happy to offer a gift certificate to the shop for your original tutorial… New fabric!…

  • Your name, with any links you want us to check out (blog, etc.).
  • Your unique fat quarter tutorial idea (if we look around we shouldn’t be able to find lots of similar tutorials).
  • Sample pics or sketches, if available.

If the idea fits we’ll introduce you, your blog and your work to well over a quarter of a million unique viewers! We can’t respond to every email but we’ll be in touch before April if we think we have a good fit. We can’t wait to hear from you!

Quick question. Is this to be using 1 fat quarter for the project or just a project using multiple fat quarters?

    • Kristin says:

It can be multiple fat quarters. The idea is, if you have a FQ pack around, what can you make (other than a quilt block)?

I’m working on a guild talk quilt which is using 10 FQ’s plus fabric for sashing and backing
here’ is a link to the blog posts to date and
I’m currently finishing the flimsy off but can hold of sharing anything thing more if you want and as yet have not posted a detailed tutorial on how to cut the FQ’s but have done a similar smaller block with a tutorial here
I’m sure you will have plenty of submissions for this from more productive and notable quilters
Thanks for all you do on your blog – it’s great

That would be GREAT!!! I guess I better start thinking of an idea… do we need to complete our idea? Like do you need a tutorial of it, or do we do it after our idea is selected?
