We hope you enjoyed our interview with Denyse Schmidt about Modern Quilts, Traditional Inspiration. (If you haven’t commented yet, you’re not entered to win a copy of the book, so hop on over!) She told us about her next fabric collection for Free Spirit, Chicopee, which will be shipping in the fall. Today we get to share a little peek at the fabric. The collection includes 26 quilting cottons and 6 fine-wale corduroys.

We wish we could get our hands on it today! How about you?

Love, love, love!!!! I am new to Denyse’s designs and fell in love with the orange/fuschia prints from Aunt Edna—then collected some of the fuschia’s from Hope Valley. I was going to make a Swoon quilt with them—but I am thinking I need to wait and add some of these prints as well!!! LOVE!!!
The green and blue is another colorway I have been collecting from whatever I can find…

Does anyone know why the name is Chicopee? I’m from Chicopee, MA, so I’m a little curious.
Stunning!!
Oh, wow. Just wow! Those acid yellow greens, the magentas and corals. This is just perfection! It’s like she’s distilled all the goodness from the fabric traditions lines, added a good dash of hope valley, given it a cute name, and ta da! Five yards of each print please!
LOVE it! She is a genious!
I know I won’t be in the majority, but I believe this is my favorite line that she’s produced thus far.
But when will it get to the UK???
