Deirdre from We Are New Every Day has a produce bag tutorial up next for you. You’ll want to grab your fat quarters and get right to work, making a set for Mother’s Day, teacher gifts or maybe for yourself too! First visit Deirdre’s blog and welcome her to Sew,Mama,Sew! Be sure to click over to see the “Vintage Collection” Deirdre mentions below; it’s so fun to see the dresses she wore as a child on her own daughter, and the dress she made inspired by the work of her mother and grandmother.
Hello there, friends! I’m Deirdre, and I’m a stormwater engineer turned stay-at-home mama who organizes everything but can never find her own glasses. I was introduced to sewing and crochet as a young girl while sitting on my grandmother’s lap. It wasn’t until a high school living skills course that I developed a huge interest in sewing, and it wasn’t until I had children taking music lessons that I developed an interest in “mobile” needlework (crochet, smocking, embroidery). I blog under the moniker WaterWorks (because I’m a stormwater engineer!) over at WeAreNewEveryDay.blogspot.com, and I enjoy telling stories about our family, my sewing projects, my crafting, and any other insanity I can conjure. One of my favorite posts catalogs a few of the dresses made for me by my grandmother and mother many years ago. I enjoy dressing my own daughters in this vintage collection of smocked dresses, and I hope they enjoy doing the same many years down the line.
