Are you sewing something for Father’s Day? You have lots of time to get to work! Share sewing tutorials for your favorite gift ideas for Dad in the comments below. Here are some fun ideas from our Tutorials page:

A Laptop Sleeve makes a thoughtful gift.
This Stadium Blanket + Bag/Cushion Combo could come in handy.
Who wouldn’t love an Insulated Lunch Sack?!
Turn this Wonky Cross Block into a handsome quilt. (The Supersize Shoo-Fly and the Fish Baby Log Cabin Pattern have nice, graphic elements too.)

… And this one’s not for Dad, but you could make Dad’s old shirt into something cute for Father’s Day celebrations. Check out the Shirt Onesie!

  1. After looking over a handful of the blog articles on your blog, I really appreciate your way of blogging.

I saved as a favorite it to my bookmark site list and will be checking back
soon. Please visit my web site too and tell
    me what you think.

Hubby has mentioned he wishes his “fat” ties were skinnier, so I was planning to “skinny up” his ties… and maybe make a few bowties. This is the tutorial I was planning to use for the skinny ties: http://m.designmom.com/2010/08/diy-skinny-ties/

Does anybody have a good bow tie tutorial? I’m planning to trace the one he has, but I’d LOVE help if anyone more experienced (or brave) than I has done this. Also, does anyone know if any good tie silk sources?

I was also thinking of making a couple of Oliver + S lazy days skirts for my girls out of some fabric from one of his old shirts… but now that you point it out, perhaps I’ll make them for them to wear on Father’s Day! Goodness, how I love this blog. =0)
