Our fat quarter fun continues with Heather’s new design, up next! While you wait for her great Project Bag tutorial, take a look at Heather’s quilt.cook.keep. blog, where she has tutorials like this Vintage Sheet Heart Baby Quilt. You can also learn all about Heather’s adventures with the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild and swoon over vintage sheets and Pyrex!

Hi , I’m Heather and so happy to be on SMS today! I’m a mom of two teens and I’ve been married to my best friend for 25 years. I’ve been sewing and quilting for ages. My first quilts were very primitive and very Thimbleberrie-ish. (I have enough brown quilts to last a lifetime!) It wasn’t until I discovered Flickr (I’m heather pk) and blogs (come visit mine at quilt.cook.keep.) that I finally discovered color! Goodbye primitive, hello modern! These very talented people were doing so much more with quilt fabric than quilts-~ tote bags, potholders, pillows… And they were completely willing to share what they knew. I joined a few swaps and bees and I was hooked! Before long, I was writing my own tutorials. In October 2010 I founded the Baltimore Modern Quilt Guild, where I get to hang out with some of my favorite people. (Hi, gals!)

In addition to sewing and quilting, I love to camp, kayak, cook, write and sometimes play around in Photoshop.

One of subway art designs.

I love thrifting, especially vintage sheets and vintage Pyrex. I share some of my thrifty finds, plus my subway art, quilts and project bags in my Etsy shop. I do hope you’ll stop by, and I hope you’ll enjoy today’s project!
