We love Jeannette’s tutorial for our Ready,Set,Go! series, coming up next. She designed a Round Travel Bag with a zipper and lots of nifty compartments, perfect for all of your traveling needs! While you wait for that, take a look at Jeannette’s http://jmday.com blog, including her quilts, art and more.

Hi! I’m Jeannette Day and I blog about life and all my sewing experiments and mishaps at http://jmday.com. The tag line on my blog is “I’m not really a geek, but I play one in real life” because I’m a software engineer during the day. I am not your typical computer nerd though, in the evenings I’d rather do anything than look at a computer, unless, of course, I’m reading all of the wonderful sewing blogs or checking out Pinterest and Flickr.

I have two children with an 8 year age gap. My wonderful husband and I are still adjusting to having a “baby” (he’s nearly two!) in the house. I really miss sleeping all night! What I’m enjoying is finding all kinds of fun things to sew for my little guy. I’ve done all the sweet little girl things, but now that my daughter is in middle school, sewing by mom isn’t the coolest thing anymore. Though, she did love her long overdue quilt.

In April of this year my busy book pattern was published in Issue #9 of Fat Quarterly! Just as I was so excited to contribute there, I am equally excited to be here at Sew,Mama,Sew! to share too.

This week you can win a copy of Where Women Create: Inspiring Work Spaces of Extraordinary Women (May/June/July Volume 4 Issue 3), With Fabric & Thread by Joanna Figueroa or We Love Color: 16 Iconic Quilt Designers Create with Kona Solids Compiled by Susanne Woods.
