Introducing ~ MissEnota (Kristin) from And Chips

MissEnota (or Kristin!) from And Chips has a fun addition to our Ready,Set,Go! series up next (and she suggested the idea for the series on Facebook too!)… It’s so fun to look around on Kristin’s site, and to see how much she’s learned to sew this year! She makes really wonderful things like this, and she’s certainly not afraid to jump right in and learn something new. It’s inspiring…

Hi! I’m MissEnota from And Chips. I use a nom de guerre because my real name, Kristin, seems to be quite popular in the sewing/blogging world. I live in Minnesota with two fluffy cats and a bearded guy I like very much. I’m passionate about road trips, movies, toys, home brewing, riding my scooter, reading quirky fiction, cooking and hanging out at the lake with friends and family. From 1997 until 2007, I served in the Army and the Army National Guard. With them, I deployed to Bosnia Herzegovina and Iraq. Hooah! I’ve been a cook, a military intelligence analyst, and an unmanned aerial vehicle operator (flying drones) but now I am unemployed, working on my history BA and enjoying my time more than ever.

I just started sewing in January 2012 with a machine someone threw out on the curb. With one lesson from mom, I discovered Sew,Mama,Sew! and Pinterest and I’ve been in heaven ever since. This is my very first tutorial and for that matter, my very first pattern design. I really hope you all enjoy it.

Back atcha, Donna! I totally know what you mean about learning to sew…I even dream about it sometimes. Or, it’s the first thing I think of when I wake up. And thank you for your service! I love meeting women veterans, I only wish it happened more often. Take care! 🙂

  2. As an animal lover, I detest to admit that I like new puppies just a little greater than kittens. They’re just so adorable and affectionate. I’m a cat enthusiast, however puppies simply handle to be more appealing. If they just weren’t so much trouble I would certainly follow a puppy right now.

You go girl! I’m a vet too but from the Viet Nam era. Not too many of us women vets out there. I just had a friend start teaching me to sew last year, and I have hit my stride. In all my life I don’t think I’ve ever had so much fun! Glad to see I’m not the only one although I am a late bloomer. Not as good as you young ones on these computers, but learning. I will enjoy checking back to see what you come up with! My husband and I have 2 diva pups, 1 feral cat we adopted so say hello to your furbabies from ours
