We’re excited to kick off Family Crafting Month with Sarah Goldschadt, author of Craft-a-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects. We love it when generations gather during the holiday season to create fun things together, and we also like fresh, new ideas for kid crafting time during the school break. Making things with your hands is the perfect way to calm (and direct!) some of the busy energy and excitement that grows in the holiday season. We have a fantastic line-up of contributors ahead this month including Emily Neuburger, Jenny Doh, Joel Henriques, Abby Glassenberg and Jenean Morrison.

Today’s Family Crafting Month selection is actually several projects in one!

Sarah Goldschadt is the designer and crafter at sah-rah.com. Sarah’s book, Craft-a-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects, is organized with weekly themes (Snowflake Week! Hexagon Week!), and includes a huge range of fun, easy projects to inspire creativity every day of the year. All of the projects are very accessible for kids and adults alike!

Today Sarah and Quirk Books are giving you a free PDF excerpt from Craft-a-Day: 365 Simple Handmade Projects.

Download all of the projects for Snowman Week here (and the corresponding Snowman Template too). Projects include Snowman Gift Tags, Snowman Cake Toppers, Snowman Cards and a Felt Snowman Ornament.

Learn more about Sarah and the book, plus download more exclusive Craft-a-Day content at Quirk Books. (The Lightening Ornament and Scallop Garland are perfect for the holidays.) Sarah’s back next week with more fun projects from Craft-a-Day (Snowflakes!).
