Nerissa from nissaMade loves to make bags and we love that she shares her new skills as she goes. Nerissa joins us next with her design for a small bag that you carry across your body. First be sure to visit nissaMade to learn more about Nerissa and her sewing.

Hi, Sew,Mama,Sew! readers. My name is Nerissa and I blog at nissaMade. I started sewing about three years ago and my interest has always been making bags. I started my blog so I could share some of my creations with people with similar interests. (And I think my family/friends were probably getting tired of seeing my projects!) Most of my blog is about my bag making but I do share a few other crafty items.

I consider myself novice sewist and am always trying to learn new techniques when making a new bag. I am currently taking a bag making class but initially taught myself via online tutorials. Since my sewing time is a bit limited usually my bags take 2-3 weeks to make (from pattern drafting to completion).

Here are a couple bags I’ve created:

This diaper bag was probably the most time consuming bag I’ve made. It has a detachable clutch on the front.

Here’s another bag; I used piping for the first time in this bag.

Anyway, I’m thrilled to share a tutorial for a small crossbody bag with you today! I’d love for you to drop by nissaMade to see more of my projects and say hi!
