Hi, what a fun blog. My friend told me about your site and said I should send in some of my latest creations. I am a stay at home mom and I sew and craft while my little ones are napping. I have a few recent projects that I am getting lots of use out of this summer including my little girls sleeveless dress from dads old shirt, hula hoop tent and summer shorts! Hope you will give them a look :)

  2. Please check out my gallery and blog!
My favorite this summer is the sister dresses that were made from Sew Beautiful’s Pascale and Australian Smocking and Embroidery’s Babe with original Smocking designs.

  3. I was asked to do a bridal alteration last month and I’ve never attempted one before. My sewing friends were impressed with the ingenuity to make this work and the bride’s mom was thrilled to tears with the results. See the post titled “Shotgun Wedding…Dress”. http://grammytheyeti.com/2013/06/06/the-shotgun-wedding-dress/

This is one of the most gorgeous, practical sewn items that I’ve ever seen. It’s from Sew Convert.
BTW This is a great idea!

My friend in Washington State has been doing some awesome sewing that makes me go WOW… She sews dolls, pillows, capes, masks, and stuffed animals and gives them all away… She makes regular trips to Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane WA to deliver her gifts. You can read about her project and see some of her wonderful gifts at

She also inspires others to sew for the children at their local hospitals.

I met Dona when she was a member of The World of Charity Stitching group.. she would help me by sewing together some of the quilt tops for me to quilt… they are made from the Counted cross stitch squares members stitch… this is yet another group that might be worth checking out.. They make quilts, tote bags, walker and wheelchair bags, bed buddies bags, bookmarks, small treasure boxes and bags, book covers and eyeglass cases and also therapy pillows.

A member of Quilt Talk group on Yahoo Groups has been working on a quilt for her daughter and son-in-law and it is just gorgeous! She finished is a couple of months ago and submitted it to a quilt show where it did not win, but she had it appraised before mailing it and the appraiser at the Quilt Museum in Lincoln, NE, said it is worth $9000! We in the group knew it was gorgeous but we were shocked at the value and heartbroken that it didn’t win a ribbon. Here is a picture of it: http://tinyurl.com/mrngz7f
The sewer is Sara Lynn (Jackson-I think) and you can read about her here: http://tinyurl.com/llsp4o5

She made matching pillows which are on her photo gallery too. She is a really sweet lady and makes fantastic quilting projects.
