The Super Online Sewing Bee contestants are getting busy making their A-line skirts, and we hope you are too!

Skirting the Issue

Speaking of skirts, have you heard about Skirting the Issue? Our friends, Liz and Elizabeth and Simple Simon & Company are running the charitable sewing event for the second year. Last year participants made over 600 skirts for girls in foster care, which is amazing!  This year they’ve added a few items so you can sew and give to causes closest to your heart. The event starts with skirts and them moves on to pillowcases, dolls, blankets and bereavement gowns, for one week each. You can give the items to local organizations or you can send them to the organizers to be distributed.  There are lots of details on the Simple Simon blog, include the FAQ, a roundup of skirt tutorials, a list of great prizes, and places to donate. We encourage you to check it out and sew something to give this month.
