Summer Sewing Inspiration: Stripey Quilt

on July 4 | in Featured Creativity | by | with 3 Comments

Jacqueline from BIND shared this Stripey Quilt for a Baby to Boy with us. We love the stripes, don’t you?!

From Jacqueline:
This quilt came about when a dear friend told me that she was expecting a baby boy. I had in mind a baby-to-boy quilt. I wanted the quilt to feel cheerful and playful– masculine with a touch of softness– and modern. So, I had selected a mixture of stripe fabrics of different color tones with some simple blue and white clown stripe fabrics against a solid white fabric. I felt that the selection of stripe fabrics together with a hour-glass block design, randomly flickered around the quilt suited the idea of a transitional quilt and the aspiration behind it. I have also continued this ‘flickering’ at the back of the quilt, just to add some cheekiness to it.

Gorgeous, I’m not sure I’ve got the patience for quilting. The finished product is so tempting though.
