Sewing Inspiration: Cambie

Our Sewaholic Cambie inspiration posts continue with Sabs’s “bottle green” version. Sabs shares more about the dress on her tybalt: king of cats blog.

Sabs writes,

“I’d been pining after the Cambie dress pattern from the very first time I saw it, and all the beautiful versions across the web. I received the pattern for Christmas from my uncle-in-law and the fabric from my husband’s parents. As soon as I saw the fabric, I knew it would be perfect for a Cambie. This was my first ever attempt at a fully lined garment and I spent ages making sure the finish was spot on, including doing French seams throughout the lining. I’m so pleased with the final result! I love the gathered sleeves and the way they transform the dress into something more fancy. I wore it for the first time to my friends’ wedding and dressed it up with fishnet tights and a big flower in my hair! There are more details and photos on my blog. Oh, and I’ve already got some black eyelet fabric lined up to make the full skirted version of the dress!”

  1. This is a gorgeous version! So far, this dress hasn’t really appealed to me but this one has just made me change my mind! Can’t wait to see what all the others come up with. x
