Sabra from sew a straight line and her son Kael created some leather bracelets for FunStitch Studio Summer Camp, inspired by the FunStitch Studio title Fabric Paper Thread by Kristen Sutcliffe. Kristen stopped by the blog last week with her fun Wrap Stitched Bracelet Tutorial!

Sabra writes,

“This is my favorite of the books we were sent. All of the projects are cool and fun, and appeal to anyone. Though most of the pictures have girls doing the projects, the projects aren’t girly and my son didn’t consider any of the projects ‘off limits’ for a boy. Most of the projects require materials that, as an avid crafter, I had on hand, making this a great rainy-day book to just flip through and make without running to the store. There were ideas in this book that I will totally use in my own projects. I also liked that there are a great variety of projects that can be done by hand, without a machine. Though I am trying to teach Kael how to sew on a machine, it’s so nice to have a project we can take with us outside, or just sit next to each other and chat while working on. That was my favorite part of this FunStitch Studio Summer Camp experience: getting to spend one-on-one time with my 10 year old while sharing my love of creating with him. From Fabric Paper Thread, Kael chose to work on some Leather Bracelets.”

Sabra and Kael made Wrapped Leather Bracelets and Embroidered Bracelets, and they had a ton of fun. See more photos of Kael’s projects and hear more from Sabra in her post!
