We have another event to share in our Go + Sew series, featuring modern sewing conferences and retreats. We want you to hear about the events in time to actually plan and attend! Today Pamela Cardwell tells us about QuiltBLISS, a winter event held in beautiful (snowy!) Utah.

The Event: QuiltBLISS
QuiltBLISS is a premier quilting retreat and is hosted by the Utah County Modern Quilt Group. QuiltBLISS will be an inspiring, creative and invigorating weekend of classes, guest lectures, trunk shows and plenty of free sew time. Plan to meet new friends, learn new skills and relax in some of the most beautiful scenery in Utah.

Where + When?
January 30th through February 2nd, 2014 (Thursday – Sunday) at the Timber Moose Lodge in Heber, Utah.

How much does it cost, and what’s included?
QuiltBLISS is an all inclusive retreat. Lodging, meals, classes, lectures and sew time are all including in the ticket price. The tickets range in price according to room accommodations: $150 – $725

Lodging options?
Timber Moose Lodge, the largest private cabin in America, is the location of QuiltBLISS. The lodge has over 26,000 square feet, 13 luxurious bedrooms, 16 bathrooms, a large sewing room, indoor pool, game room and hot tub.

We are also selling a limited amount of day-only tickets and non-sleeping tickets. Hotel rooms can be booked in Heber. (10 minutes from Lodge.)

How many years has the event been presented, and how many people typically attend?
This is QuiltBLISS’ inaugural year, we have space for 65 attendees and staff. We plan to host a retreat every winter.

What does a typical day look like?
QuiltBLISS has a little something for everyone. Eight wonderful classes are being offered ranging in topics from scraps, paper piecing, fabric dying, creative time, applique and more. The Sewing Room, sponsored by Dave’s Bernina, will be open from 10:30 a.m. to well past midnight each night. We also have two guest lectures and two trunk shows scheduled for Friday and Saturday. Our goal at QuiltBLISS is to allow the attendee to make their own schedule. With optional classes, free sew time, trunks shows and lectures the attendees can be as busy or relaxed as they want to be. For a complete schedule of the weekend click here.

QuiltBLISS has an incredible line-up of teachers and speakers, and each teacher/speaker will be teaching topics of their own expertise: Sherri McConnell, Sarah Wright, Amy Smart, Amanda Woodruff, Leigh Hansen, Anna Morrison, Jeanette Hartvigsen, Kristin Barrus, Emily Sessions. Are there other things to do in the area?
Utah is known for having the “greatest snow on earth!” Heber is literally minutes from many major ski resorts. Heber is also about 15 minutes from Park City, 35 minutes from Sundance and 45 minutes from Salt Lake City.
