Here’s the final quilt to share in our Aurifil Mini Quilt Challenge. We selected eight readers to use the beautiful Aurifil Simplify Thread Collection, curated by Camille Roskelley, in a mini quilt. Each talented sewist created a mini quilt that was unique, featured the thread in special ways and made us eager to jump in and sew too. The quilts certainly inspired us for our upcoming Quilting Month in January!
Thank you to our talented readers for their participation!:
- Geta Grama of Geta’s Quilting Studio
- Jennifer Waaraniemi of lea & lars
- Amy Gunson of Badskirt
- Vanessa Lynch from Punkin Patterns
- Kelie Copas from Craft Nurse Quilt
- Kristin Schwarze of And Chips
- Lindsey Rhodes of LRstitched
- Penny Layman from Sew Take a Hike
Kristin Schwarze of And Chips used the Aurifil thread for some really lovely quilting in the negative white space of her mini quilt.
Her quilt is a fairly large mini at 20″ x 34″, and it draws your eye in with the subtle, playful quilting. The pop of color on the back is really fun too.
