A follow-up comment to my follow-up comment – I wish everyone would announce who won their drawing.

  2. Another fabulously fun giveaway week! I didn’t win anything but I picked up a few new blogs to follow.

I really appreciate that you use two categories – US and international shipping. But ditto the comments about those that did not take the time to read carefully which linky they added their blog to! Maybe next time it could be an International page for the handmade AND supplies linkies, and then a US/North American page?

This was wonderful, it was the largest giveaway I have entered. I entered so many I cant remember them all so I can check back to see it I won. Note to self : write down all giveaway I enter. Fear if I won anything I will never know.

  4. Katie says:

Thanks for coordinating and awesome giveaway! I have the same issues as others: mixed-up international vs. US only listings; pain-in-the-butt verification codes (they make me feel like my contacts aren’t working anymore!).

As a non-blogger, I really like being included in these giveaways and they chance to find so many sites in one place. Many of these blogs would take months for me to find (or never) and I have happily subscribed to most that I visited. It also helped that I won several listings so my week is starting off really well at the thought of so much “happy mail” 🙂

  5. Laura says:

Thanks so much for this, I haven’t had my blog for long and I got my first ever comments! Can’t wait for the next one and m already planning to do a giveaway in January!!! So so fun!

  6. Tamie says:

Thank you so much for putting this together and for all the bloggers who offered giveaways. Would love to see at least one weekend day included as time is short- especially at this time of year. Looking forward to the spring…

  7. Jean says:

This was my first giveaway, and I am thrilled at the number of responses I got! I worked hard to enter as many as I could but it was hard! Would love to see a 7-day week instead of a 5-day week.
As a Canadian blogger, I posted in the international category but stipulated i could only ship to Canada and the US. Not all folks appreciated that Canada is not part of the US! I would like to suggest a “North America” category or perhaps “willing to ship overseas” rather than an all or nothing.
I was also put off by bloggers who required too much to be able to enter — so much that on some sites I didn’t enter at all, and they lost a potential follower.
All in all though I really enjoyed the experience and am already planning for the next one!

  8. Jaya says:

    fantastic festival!
thanks for organizing this massive event!

  9. Bethany says:

It was a ton of fun. I don’t think that I won anything this round. But I had fun looking. One suggestion. If they are giving something in both the handmade and supply category it would be so much better if they were two different blog posts. It was confusing to see the same blog entry in two different places.

I enjoyed this year very much. It was great!

  10. Jansie says:

Could have used two weeks to get through it all. I think I only made it through half of them. 🙁 I actually like to look at the blog and read the whole thing, not sprint through and just focus on the giveaway part. Plus a full time job and kiddos (like everyone else, I’m sure). Just wishing for more time in my life. lol Thanks for organizing, as always!

  11. Heidi says:

Thank you for hosting Giveaway Day (Week!). It is hard to get much else done, but I sure enjoyed all the reads!

  12. wendy says:

I really enjoyed it as usual, but the fact that it’s Monday to Friday is hard for me. Like a lot of readers, I’m not a SAHM or retired, I work full time and long hours so getting round the blogs is a real challenge. Any chance you can extend it over the weekend?

I came across 10 blogs that were linked up to willing to ship internationally but actually weren’t! I commented on each blog saying so but only 3 replied apologising for the mistake. It really annoys me as you’ll have read the blog post by the time you get to the conditions!

  13. Thank you for organising Giveaway Day – it’s fun for us.

As others have said, it is frustrating when US only entries are in the International category and when verification is switched on.

  14. Fran says:

I’ve found lots of great blogs to follow, it’s been lots of fun. Thanks for hosting this fantastic event.

  15. Eva says:

Thank you for hosting this brilliant event. I visited lots of new blogs, made some freinds along the way and had lots of fun!

Thank you Sew Mama Sew, you are the best!

  16. Sue says:

I have to hardily agree with the verification thing. It gets so frustrating particularly with the numbers involved. They are so faint sometimes that they are completely unreadable. Many times I kept hitting the arrow so a new code would come up until I could read it. I really liked only having two categories this year but some folks put their giveaways in both categories and I had to remember if I had entered already or not. I also noticed that the international and US only part didn’t seem to work. People seemed to just put their giveaway anywhere (and sometimes everywhere. )

Now for the positive! Guess I really should have started here! It was a fun week. I got to meet lots of new people and read new blogs. The comments on my giveaway were really fun to read and I learned lots of new traditions for Christmas. Thank you Sew Mama Sew for another wonderful giveaway day/week!!!!

  17. Carol Y says:

I was amazed and pleased at how many non-US bloggers there were, and that they were willing to ship internationally! I have to admit there were a few I didn’t enter because I would feel too guilty if I won and they had to ship it from Australia to here in the US. It’s so costly. It seems like there were fewer handmade things this year, which was a little sad.

  18. I have so much fun meeting other bloggers and finding new blogs to read every time there’s a Sew Mama Sew giveway week being organised!
Really, the only problem I experienced this week was that some bloggers mis-read where they were supposed to link up and there were several links in the “international” section which led to posts that were US only or US and Canada only giveaways.
But all in all, it’s a fun week of blog hopping!

  19. Jayne says:

I had a wonderful time! It was my first Sew Mama Sew Giveaway and perfect timing since my blog is pretty new! I had so many comments…it was fantastic! Thank you for hosting! You guys are the best!

  20. Natalie says:

It was so much fun checking out a lot of new websites, I will need to go back and check out some more in the future when I have more time. Thanks for hosting and of course everyone offering such great prizes. My only problem was spending maybe a bit too much time entering contest and checking out websites instead of doing my housework. lol

  21. Emme says:

This was the first year i was able to enter EVERY. SINGLE. ONE.
It took time and dedication and all 5 days. But I did it.
Thank you, SMS, for introducing me to all the fun blogs!

  22. Ana says:

Thanks for another fun giveaway. I noticed that some posts had over 1000 comments – how great is that?! On the downside, I hate hate hate rafflecopter and all the social media sites – why can’t people just leave a comment? And, As Sarah at Craftysorcha says there were a few US-only giveaways in the international sections, but I did that (the other way round) a few giveaways ago so I can’t complain that much!

  23. ariadne says:

It was a great giveaway week, thank you very much for giving us such a chance. I was very frustrated at some point when after leaving lots of comments I was alerted by another blogger that I was a no-reply blogger and I wasn’t aware of it. I would like to thank Carol who told me about it. I too have comments on my blog by people who are no-reply.Lots of people are not aware that their status was changed by google/blogger without them knowing.Hope everyone will fix that. Maybe in future one of the obligatory things should be to leave an e-mail with the comment. AriadnefromGreece

  24. Rashida says:

    Hello Everyone,

I am new to this site. I love to sew and sew almost everyday when I can. Right now I am making a quilt for my mom and just finished doing a wedding dress for another one. I do a little bit of everything. I have 3 suits to finish for my nephews before the end of January.

    Merry Christmas form Pittsburgh, PA

  25. AlidaP says:

It was an intense week of clicking, commenting and connecting with wonderful bloggers!!! 🙂
    Thanks for organizing this event!!

  26. Debra Kay Neiman says:

WOW, this is my first time on the Giveaway Day (Week). Thank You so much for sponsoring this, I know it was a lot of work. I was able to meet and follow so many great bloggers. As a new quilter I am loving all the inspiration. Merry Christmas from Oklahoma, USA.

  27. Thanks for hosting this every year. It’s such a wonderful event!

  28. My only thought so far other than how wonderful and generous everyone is, is that I hate word verification. I probably average having to try two times per attempted comment, but I’ve had to try as many as 4 times. If people turned off verification for the week I would love them for doing so.

  29. Bekk says:

I agree with Sarah and Joanna, it is a bit frustrating.
I’ve really enjoyed this giveaway day (week), I’ve found loads of great blogs I’ve never seen. I have lots of people/blogs I want to keep up with now. Thank you sew mama sew!

  30. Roopa says:

Great giveaway……hope this Friday brings the luck…
    Thanks for the chance. 🙂

  31. Whitney says:

I LOVED it!! It was well ran and loved the different options! It was great how you had one for Fabric/Supplies and another for Handmade Items. And loved that in each category you had International shipping & Us shipping! Well done and thank you for hosting!!!

  32. Joanna says:

I was going to say the same thing, regarding the posts in the international category that were only for US shipping.

  33. I really enjoyed the giveaway day (week!). However, I did notice that there were several bloggers who put their giveaway in the international category but who are not willing to ship outside the US. Bit frustrating that!
