I was honored to be invited to participate in the blog hop for the new book by Katie Blakesley of Swim, Bike, Quilt, Lee Heinrich of Freshly Pieced and Faith Jones of Fresh Lemons Quilts. These three amazing modern quilters have been an inspiration for years, so I was thrilled when I learned they were working on a book together. Vintage Quilt Revival, with instructions for 20 traditional blocks, 19 full project patterns and sampler quilt patterns featuring the blocks is definitely a must-have for quilters with an interest in learning a variety of piecing techniques and block layouts; you can apply these to quilts, pillows, bags and more. The book is also the perfect springboard for bees and swaps.
As part of the blog hop, I made the block Mosaic #8. I really love the traditional vibe with the familiar fabrics.
I am definitely motivated to use this book more! The instructions are great, the projects are fun and the designs are very approachable. All of the participants in the blog hop made blocks which Katie, Lee and Faith are using to make charity quilts. The quilts will be featured on their blogs on the last day of the blog hop which runs 1/13 through Friday, 1/17. It will be fun to see them all come together!
