I have been sewing clothes for a 1920’s antique doll, the Famlee doll by Berwick…a doll with one body and multiple changeable heads…the heads screw on to the body similar to a light bulb in a socket..
Would be fun to have a book with projects like this..

  3. Jansie says:

My week was busy, but I was able to work on a little bit of sewing in the evenings. Always makes me happy at the end of a long day. πŸ™‚ Really cute skirt. Can’t wait to try it!

  4. Evelyn says:

Too many closely approaching deadlines along with a slow recovery from back pain — whew! There’s a baby shower in 2 weeks, a birthday in 3 weeks, another baby shower in 4 weeks, another birthday shortly after that — too many showers and birthdays too close together. Of course I’m sewing and/or quilting gifts for all of these events.

  5. Janice Urffer says:

Would like some new ideas, that book would be a nice inspiration. Cut out a dress getting ready to make some Spring clothes.

Last week was awful. It started off with a sick toddler and super-cold weather. Mid-week I let our IT dept put a new hard drive in my laptop to replace the one that was failing … and it took two days to get it back! I’m ready for a vacation.

Didn’t finish any sewing projects this week, but knitted two caps to donate and went to Stitches West. Ah, so many hobbies!

  10. Sarah says:

Whoofta… broke the bottom of the car on a huge ice pile resulting from city plow the previous night… seriously… 3 feet tall at least and it was either fly through it or be late to work… I’m a teacher… all that went crazy well… no time to sew… but this morning, so far the house is quiet and clean, and the basement is sorted, so with the clothes calling for washing down there, I’m predicting sewing weather is finally here!

  11. Sara says:

I hurt my forearm, so nothing really has gotten done. I have all the pieces finished for my first queen sized quilt but just need to put them together. Then I started a smaller project to practice my hand quilting before tackling the monster.

This week was one of loose ends. I finished a major project. The one I have nearing completion is stalled. I think something is not quite right with it. The one in the planning stages is also stalled. None of my stash seems right for it and I live 50 miles from a fabric store. Tried looking online, but I really need to see it in person.

  18. No time this week for projects, but I’m MAKING time this weekend! πŸ™‚

  19. Debby says:

Great little tutorial to make a skirt from man’s shirt. It is so fun to re-cycle or re-purpose clothing. Shopping at the used clothing store takes on a whole new meaning!!

  24. Cindy Giesing says:

My week is always busy but I try to find time for creativity. This week I assembled and blocked a “baby” sweater for an almost-two year old and I sewed 2 replacement rice bags (with detachable, washable covers) for us. The rice bags are great for arthritis and the 2 year old is absolutely adorable in her new sweater (of course she’s adorable with or without new sweaters). Today (Saturday) I am going with our daughter to a Quilt Craft and Sew show at the San Mateo event center. Last Saturday a granddaughter and I completed an art project together — an umbrella hanging on our patio with crystals hanging down inside looking like drops of water. Very sparkly.

  25. MKat says:

Have some headbands all layed out to make but did not get to finish them. Now we can’t eat with all the stuff on the table!

  26. jonquil says:

This week saw my hours being cut at work, found that my local JoAnns doesn’t have the yarn I need to finish a lap sized afghan (most irritating), & decided (last night) that I want a light weight cowl to wear to two birthday parties on Sunday πŸ™‚

  27. Diana says:

  34. Jenny Vater says:

I just saw this book is a give away for now! Usually I find these kinds of posts after the fact! I would really love this book. My library needs a copy!
I was having a great week – finished up a felted wool sweater project by making stuffed animals. I had big plans to sew more today, instead my kids’ school had a two hour delay because of the rotten weather. On the way out the door my 8 yr slammed his finger in the door and we needed to go to the ER, finger nail is gone and the “root” is damaged and stitched back up. We are hoping he will be able to grow a finger nail with the awesome sewing job the doctor did. I was thankful for the doctor’s sewing abilities! The rest of the weekend will be better!

  38. Linda L. says:

Between the snow and the sniffles and a migraine, it’s pretty well been a lost week. We have rain and ‘spring’ today but that just means the world will be a skating rink when the deep freeze returns tomorrow. And it will!!
Other than that, things are fine ;o)

  39. How apropos – my week ended up with no time for sewing (despite the plan for a lot of it!) thanks to a horrible bug that descended upon our house. Finally all feeling well again and chomping at the bit to sit down at my sewing machine : ) This book looks like it would be a lot of fun to work on with kids new to sewing, too!

My week was busy! Between the kids and school I’ve barely had time to do much of anything. I did, however, look up projects to do with fat quarters. I will be picking some up today and making some rickrack trimmed napkins and a table runner to match.
