Sewing Trends with Rachael

Today we have our monthly look at sewing trends from Rachael of imagine gnats. After many fabulous months as our trend spotter, Rachael needs more time to focus on her hugely successful Perfect Pattern Parcel, and the imagine gnats blog and shop! We have new collaborations in the works so your monthly look the latest in sewing will continue (we even have a quilting trends expert!), but we’ll miss Rachael’s great eye for trends in fabric, garments, kid sewing, bags and more!

Visit Rachael in her shop, and on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest. Take a look at her new Perfect Pattern Parcel site too, where you can purchase multiple patterns at a price that works for you.

Tell us about your sewing… Are you all about stripes?!

This month’s sewing trend is stripes, stripes, stripes! I couldn’t stop seeing stripes everywhere I looked… Knit stripes, upcycled stripes, babies in stripes, stripes on hats, stripes on tights, big stripes and little stripes.

Clockwise (from top left): Adirondack Inspired, You & Mie, Buzzmills, Crafterhours, Sew Busy Lizzy, Casa Crafty, Craftiness is not Optional.

Clockwise (from top left): Fishsticks Designs, Girl Like the Sea, Sewaholic, Sewbon, Andrea’s Notebook, Stitched Together, The Sew Convert.

Clockwise (from top left): Delia Creates, Kitschy Coo, Lladybird, True Bias, Seamstress Erin, One Little Minute Blog, Max California.

Go forth, and make with stripes!

I have enjoyed so much scouring the internet and seeing all of your inspiration for these trends posts, and it is bittersweet to say that this is my last. Between the imagine gnats blog and shop, and the success of Perfect Pattern Parcel, my time reserve is at an all-time low but I definitely look forward to seeing future trends posts here.

A big thank you to you for reading! And to Kristin and Beth… For running such an amazing site, for offering so much inspiration and opportunity for our community, and for serving as personal inspirations… The most giant of thanks!

Great ideas on sewing with stripes. I love using striped fabric for quilt bindings too!
