Our final challenger is Anjeanette Klinder! Anjeanette used linen with the Oakshott to create this beautiful tote. We can’t decide what we like best in the bag, from the hexagons and triangles, to the strips of Lipari within the linen and the fabulous dark topstitching.
Anjeanette writes, “What is Oakshott? It is shot cotton. The warp and weft of the fabric are made of different colored threads. The results are dynamic color play in the light, a sort of iridescent fabric. It is soft and just luscious. Now I see that Oakshott is also making Colourshott, which have slightly different colors on the reverse side. I die!” Anjeanette says she found it difficult to capture the beauty of the fabric in photos so she did a little series that shows how the fabric changes in the light. Find those photos, many more shots of the bag and info on all of the extra, special details in the tote at Anjeanette Klinder.
You can purchase Oakshott Fabrics at local regional quilt shops, directly from the manufacturer in the UK, or online from Contemporary Cloth in the US. Sign up to be the first to learn about future fabric and pattern challenges via our contributor’s newsletter!
