Giveaway Day (Week!) runs through Friday so don’t miss your chance to enter to win hundreds of different fabric, pattern and handmade item giveaways.

Caroline Hulse from Sew Caroline is here with a new Sewing Fashion Report! We think Caroline has enviable style, and she’s always on the lookout for new apparel fabric, clothing patterns and more. She designs and sells patterns. Right now she’s at Quilt Market, learning more about the latest and greatest in the sewing industry. (Follow Kristin’s Quilt Market photos on Instagram (sewmamasew) this weekend and look for her Quilt Market reports next week.)

Caroline’s new Gleeful prints for the AGF Limited Edition series debut this summer! Look for a Gleeful project at Sew Mama Sew later this month.

SPRING is here in the US and the weather is getting warmer so it’s time to bust out those springtime wardrobes. The best way to customize your wardrobe to fit your needs and your style is to DIY it. Here are a few springtime inspirations for you and your DIY, sewing heart.

Blazers

Blazers are a fantastic piece to transition from cold to warm in the spring, and then again from warm to cold in the fall. They’re also great to dress up a more casual outfit. So, basically, they’re an essential for each and every closet. Here are a few of my favorites from around the online sewing community.

Tweed Herringbone Blazer via Mokosha, Bellatrix Tuxedo Blazer from Mercury Handmade Fashion

Clockwise (from top left): Ralph Pink Casual Tuxedo from Cirque Du Bebe, Navy stripe blazer via Girls in the Garden, Victoria cropped and ruffled blazer from Katy and Laney

Drop Waist Dresses

This fashion trend is most definitely a throw back to the ’60′s; it is adorable, easy to wear and you can see it ALL OVER the ready to wear scene. I love when RTW trends are quickly picked up by the sewing community. It helps us to be trendy while it’s still in style!

Banksia pattern hack from Megan Nielsen, Malvarosa dress pattern via Pauline Alice

Clockwise (from top left) Drop Waisted Dress pattern from Pattern Runway, Drop Waist Dress DIY via Runway DIY, Sun Drop via Peneloping

Springtime Outfit Inspiration

Here is a fun, sewable look I’ve put together for spring. I especially love the boiled wool blazer!

Happy fashion sewing and we’ll see you next month!
