Little Helper Apron from The Belle & Boo Book of Crafts

on July 4 | in Books, Sewing Tutorials + Patterns | by | with 80 Comments

We’ve loved the whimsical, magical illustrations from Belle & Boo for years. Belle, Boo and all of the characters in Mandy Sutcliffe’s worlds evoke the best of childhood.

Mandy’s latest is The Belle & Boo Book of Crafts: 25 Enchanting Projects to Make for Children, full of twenty-five playful projects for kids.

From the publisher:

Belle is a little girl with a brown bob, the odd scratch on her knee, and an insatiable curiosity about the natural world, while her pet rabbit, Boo, a flopsy brown bunny, is her faithful friend and confidant. Along with their many friends, Belle and Boo inhabit a sweetly nostalgic world where they spend their days playing in a pirate tree house, cloud-spotting from hot-air balloons, or riding a fairground carousel.

The Belle and Boo Book of Crafts
offers twenty-five one-of-a-kind projects we can create to bring more magic and make-believe into our lives. Sewing projects include a cuddly toy rabbit, a clothesline play tent, and even an explorerโ€™s satchel. Make a robust beanbag, a tooth fairy pillow for your child’s room, or a pull-along stuffed elephant with a sweet ribbon bow. Also included are knitting, embroidery and papercraft projects to decorate your home and brighten your day.

You can download an exclusive, free excerpt from The Belle & Boo Book of Crafts! The Little Helper Apron has sweet bias binding, a handy pocket and a classic look for your favorite little helper. Download the PDF with instructions and the embroidery template here.

We also have TWO copies of The Belle & Boo Book of Crafts: 25 Enchanting Projects to Make for Children to give away today! (U.S. and Canadian addresses only this time, please.) Just tell us what you’re up to this weekend and you’re entered for a chance to win a copy!

I’m at my daughter’s house in ND, where we celebrated my oldest granddaughter’s 21st birthday on July 4th. She recently lost 70 pounds, so I’m looking for a dress pattern that will show off her tiny waist. Her little sisters are 4, 6, and 10, so this book would be perfect for them.

  31. Barbara says:

I just got out of the hospital, so I’m taking it easy this weekend by sewing just one small project, a little organizer to hang from the front doorknob, while our dinner cooks in the crockpot! Thank you for the apron pattern; my 2-year old cupcake-loving granddaughter will enjoy it, I know!

What an adorable book. I clicked the link and took a peek inside. LOVE the adorable elephant on the wood block with wheels. How cute. So many things in this book look like things my 2 yr old Granddaughter would just love.

Speaking of my granddaughter; she and her parents are gone this weekend to a friend’s cabin so our house is quiet. The peace and quiet doesn’t happen too often now since they moved in here so hubby and I are doing absolutely nothing other than to enjoy the peace and quiet. Of course, our new kitten has disrupted the peace and quiet quite often since she gets into and on to everything but still, we’re just relaxing so far. Tomorrow he’s going to redo the shelving he built in my sewing room closet so I can arrange things a bit differently. I’m desperately needing more room. Somehow my fabric has grown to a point which means much of the newly purchased fabrics are sitting on my cutting table with nowhere to hide so they are in my way. ๐Ÿ™ What a problem to have eh? LOL Soooooooo tomorrow means lots of work rearranging and refolding a lot of fabric and hoping my new idea will work so he’s not wasting his time rebuilding things.
