I tend to go for the more timeless patterns, but I do tend to love more ridiculous colors an patterns. Why sew for myself if I’m not going to make an item that I could not find anywhere else?

  2. Laura Mae says:

I definitely go for a vintage look – even modern pattern patterns end up looking retro once I put them on!

I’m a casual look kinda gal, but I like to dress up when I can!

  6. Robin E says:

I’m mostly eclectic in style. I find myself choosing or making each garment because I like it, but the result is a wardrobe that looks like it contains nothing except what other people chose for me, as little of it blends well with other items. Yeah, I need to work on that.

  7. Tori says:

I like classy and casual. Classy for Sundays, casual for every other day.

  8. Jane S. says:

What a sweet dress! My style is definitely casual, but when I do go dressy it’s with a classic look.

I have a very classic look. I wear lots of dresses and skirts, but will wear the occasional denim paired with a cute top. I’ve always been more preppy with a slight boho look. I love this dress!

I love 40s style dresses because they feel special and feminine but are practical and comfortable for every day.

  15. Claire says:

I love this dress, and though I’m still learning a good bit about sewing myself it doesn’t look too daunting! I wonder would it work ok in a bold print (I always prefer patterned fabrics) or is it too old school a design to pull it off? All opinions welcome, I’ve really been considering buying this lately… :)

  16. Suzie says:

My style has changed over the years and I would say it is still changing! I am really eager to have more feminine dresses in my life, but I’m always worried I’ll end up looking too overdressed – ridiculous I know! I think this dress is absolutely beautiful and very flattering and would look stylish without feeling overdressed (unless you wanted to be! lol).

  17. Megan says:

I love vintage (50s) inspired dresses and clothes, but usually end up wearing pretty simple and casual dresses and skirts during my free time and then boring work appropriate clothes for work; but I would love to add more of a vintage vibe to my style if only I could manage to motivate myself more.

I love to wear dresses so much, especially vintage inspired! I am very interested in fashion and why styles change. I also love to experiment with putting unexpected things together in an outfit. I also love colour!

  24. Amy says:

My fashion style is ever changing! But my staples are classic feminine skirts and dresses. I love circle skirts with contrasting petticoat, shirt waist dresses and boatnecks. Although if I could only wear one outfit for the rest of my night I’d choose pjs!! Xx

  25. sarah says:

Now I’ve started sewing for myself I’m trying to step away from the jeans and t-shirts and make skirts and dresses. It’s made me think more about dressing for my shape and trying to be more ladylike! (Although, I’m always the first to chuck on the trackie bottoms and a hoodie when I get home from work, that’ll never change!)

I’d love to sew this in a knit. It’s looks very comfortable.
    Thanks for the giveaway.

  34. Emily says:

How pretty! I prefer classic colors and styles, because I’m tired of investing in a wardrobe that I won’t wear the following year. This doesn’t mean I don’t buy the occasional trendy piece, but I wait for clearances!

  35. Rox says:

I love vintage styles on others, but I am more of a modern girl myself. My ideal outfit is a bit casual, not too fussy, a little rock-’n roll and strikes a balance between feminine and masculine.

Love this pattern! Hope to win so I can try crepe for my first time!

  37. Janey says:

  50. Debra says:

    Very cool pattern!

  51. linda schiffer says:

My number one requirement from clothing is comfort! This generally means good fit (though maybe sometimes with some ease:). Number two is color. Number three is flattering lines for a generously curving body. :) After all that comes interesting details.

  56. Jess says:

I would like to say that I go for some sort of style, but it’s really more thrown-together thing than anything else! :(

Gorgeous dress! I think this would be very flattering on a pear shape and a very versatile style that would be perfect for the office as well as going out in the evening. Can’t wait to make it x

  71. Amber Allen says:

Wow! I love this dress <3 well I suppose I haven't really developed my own sense of style yet as I am only seventeen and am still discovering the joys of adults clothing! I normally go for a casual style but I love dressing up when I go out. I used to be a jeans and tshirt girl but since I have started sewing I love making dresses in floral prints. I love making vintage style dresses but in modern fabrics to make them more unique and less old fashioned :)

  72. elizabeth says:

I like to look “put together” but in a comfortable fashion…if I can find a dress that is both comfortable and pulled together that is a definite win-win.

  75. alexa says:

I love to wear clothes that fit extremely well. I love a little bit of vintage flair on some days and lean to more a modern aesthetic on others. Sadly I don’t wear much if any jewelery but in the winter I’ve always got a pretty scarf on.

  76. Jerilyn says:

My style has always been very vintage inspired, so much so that I wish that I could still wear gloves and hats on outings without someone thinking that I have a medical condition ;) Over the years, and with the infusion of designer fabrics, I have developed a Donna Reed meets Joan Baez kind of vibe…..kind of retro boho. LOL! I love making my own clothes and having my very own look.

  77. marie says:

A great looking dress – and seeing it in a solid colour makes it look more wearable. I’ve gone from mostly black to more colour since I’ve been sewing, but I need some solid black staples.

  78. MzTallulah says:

I love to be comfortable, but I am also a fan of vintage styles, especially from the 1920s to the 1960s. Thankyou for the giveaway!

  81. Alli says:

My style is verrrry casual…! :D

  82. Tas says:

My style is a bit all over the place. Love the old fashioned look- floral dresses with knitted cardigans. But I also love the modern Japanese style, the retro look, Asian clothing…

This is such a beautiful dress pattern.

  83. Catriona says:

My style tends to be mostly I think this looks pretty and it suits my shape. This means that what I’m actually wearing varies hugely from smart dresses to Jeans and t-shirts to hippy skirts. I don’t like to limit myself!

  84. Siobhan says:

I’ve only just started making my my own clothes so I’m looking forward to defining a look that is more ‘me’ and less about what I can get in my size in the shops and which never really fits anyway. This tea dress pattern is just the sort of ladylike dress that I would like to base my work wardrobe on

  85. Susan says:

I work full-time and I love dresses for work – just throw it on and then I love to accessorize! I have a huge collection of necklaces and pick them up on sale. They offer alot of zing to an outfit. Susan

  86. Kat H says:

  87. Mags says:

I love a 50s vibe, very fitted and showing off your waist, but I’m trying to make more wearable every day clothes at the moment! Still want to make this pattern though.

  88. Sue says:

I have had a corporate style for the last thirty years complete with fancy jewellery and copious amounts of shoes, but as I wind down to retirement (next year) I am looking more and more to a casual style. However, as a lover of vintage, I find it hard to find truly casual patterns from the ’30s and ’40s, which means that I am turning to the ’60s and ’70s to fill my vintage needs. One of the things I love about the Indie patterns is that they are often quite informal in style and I am amassing quite a few of these patterns ready to make clothes to hang out in!

  89. Lynn Potts says:

What a sweet pattern this is! My style is bright and casual and a bit vintage LOL, I used to accessorise with necklaces a lot, but these disappeared when I had children, so now its earrings mostly. I wear dresses pretty much all the time and they usually have a vintage feel to them, Adding a dash of red lippy always makes me feel much more dressed up :)

My style is classic with a twist. The twist can be anything.

  91. Melissa says:

This pattern is awesome. I love a classic style with a great silhouette.

  92. Kate says:

I love this dress, it’s one of those classic dress styles that can look great on most people. I’ve become a dress/tunic person and I wear them summer and winter.

  93. Anne Marie says:

I would love to wear dresses a lot more than I do but biking in Denmark in the winter demands a more practical way of dressing due it rain and snow. In the summer though it is nice to get out the flirty summer dresses. I love this pattern and would love to get my hands on it.

  94. Nita says:

As a newly retired woman I need to find a new style that reflects my new lifestyle.

  95. Karen H says:

I love this dress! One of my favorites thus far. Although I am a fairly casual person, wearing jeans most of the time, I love how this is fitted. Would love to make this pattern!

Casual, but I dress up when needed

  101. Ginger says:

My style changes from day to day. I guess classic is accurate more often than not

  102. Larissa says:

My style changes a lot. I used to love to live in suits, now I’m all about the jeans & t-shirts. But I’m suddenly finding myself attracted to a lot of dresses and wanting ones that are more for day and dates, rather than just fancy ones.

  103. Amber Hunter says:

  104. Carla says:

I usually go for comfy, but I love the modest sexy of a good vintage piece!

  105. Heidi G says:

I’ve been trying to dress up my casual look lately. I put more thought into accessories and I’ve been wearing skirts often this summer. It’s just as easy to slip on a cute dress as it is to pull on some jeans!

  106. Cindy G. says:

My sense of style right now is not quite where I want it to be. I’d love to dress in classic styles, with a bit of quirky flair thrown in, either by wearing some fun jewelry, or fun fabrics. But, right now, comfort is key… mostly because I’m on vacation, but also because most of my clothes are a bit too small (but I’m working on that).

  107. Brenda Melahn says:

Love this pattern — my little daughter-in-law would look perfect in this dress. She is currently pregnant with 2nd child, but would love to win this pattern to make her this dress!!

  108. Miet says:

I love vintage; this dress is great!

  110. Emily says:

Love easy and machine washable styles. I mostly wear skirts.

  111. cal says:

I have zeroed in on what looks good or what I like to see myself in over the years. It helps to know this, avoids mistakes, although at the same time one must always dare a little and try new things, as it is the only way we can discover new add-ons. Also, as I have aged I care less, and fell at the same time, more confident.

  112. Chloe says:

Love love love this pattern ! A great vintage look but remains easy to wear and i can definitely see it as a must-have in my wardrobe !

I would say my style is classy with a bit of modern thrown in.

My style is kind of casual chic, with a slouch princess vibe and always sexy in that modest special way.

  115. San says:

I mostly dress for work, so I try to go for a neat, tidy, generally classic look. Lots of slacks a d simple blouses, and calf- and knee- length dresses in dark colors.

Before I was a jeans and t-shirt girl through and through, but I’ve really come to appreciate dresses.

  116. Sara says:

I am such a throw-together dresser! but I adore this pattern because it is so feminine, would love to win…

  117. Catherine says:

I am casual & comfortable. I keep my accessories simple. The one thing about my style that has stayed constant would be little touches of “ethnic” style.

  118. I think my style has changed. I love classic styles with a vintage twist, but in reality I love to slob out in shorts or jeans.

  119. Nancy says:

My style has evolved. I was quite casual, but now I’m enjoying some lovely dress up looks. Vintage looks keep it fun.

  120. Lourdes Allepuz Suñé says:

    Its beautiful

  121. Jessica says:

    I love vintage looks!

  122. I am so a throw-together casual girl!! Don’t accessorize as I feel the simple gold chain with jewelled cross is enough.
When I was working, it was strict business wear. Now that I am disabled, I do prefer casual, with a little bit of vintage(usually a purse) thrown in!
    Thanks for the giveaway,

My style is about simplicity. I like some detail in my clothing (eg a few pintucks or a lace border only on the sleeves, but not on all edges)

  135. Katie says:

Love this pattern! My style has changed a lot since having kids. I still try to be professional and put together at the office but pretty much just go for comfort at home.

I am a mostly casual dresser, but I do like to dress up more for work. I love dresses for the summer! My look has definitely changed over the years. Right now I mostly dress classy, but I love the vintage look!

Right now I am loving dresses and wear them almost everyday. Not sure that is a style but it is how I roll.

  139. Vicki B says:

I tend towards the vintage, loving circle skirts and nipped in waists. I also mix in a few maxi skirts and dresses. A tea dress would look great in a silk I have just added to my stash

  140. Cheryl says:

I love rocking a vintage style–especially 1940s–when swing dancing, so this dress pattern would be perfect!

  141. Ginzette says:

Most days, there is nothing about my style that will make you jump and notice. I opt for casual, comfortable, lived in clothes and shoes. But when the occasion arises, I love to wear a vintage dress with t-straps or pumps. I might choose 40′s one time and 60′s the next. Nothing makes me feel prettier… and if I’ve made the dress myself, even BETTER!

  142. Cyndi says:

I am all about comfortable. If I can be stylish & comfortable, too, then whoohoo for me!

  143. Sarah Annie says:

  147. Alyssa Sorenson says:

    Love this style!

  148. Marly says:

My own personal style is casual, but for work I have to be more dressy. I think this is absolutely the pattern for both styles: as pictured above in black it is formal for work, but it a medium sized print would be great for casual free time. This is absolutely MY style.

  149. Caitlin says:

How have I not seen this? It is super cute and doesn’t require a ton of fabric!

  150. Stacey says:

I’d say my style is understatedly vintage. I do own lots of period vintage pieces, and have made a conscious effort to either make my own clothes or buy exclusively thrifted items. This 40′s inspired dress fits my style to a tea! :)

  151. Jess says:

Most days, my look is VERY casual – jeans and a top with flats, Converse, or flip flops. But lately I find myself scouring the Interwebs to find a cute dress like this one, so I think it’s time I make one for myself!

  152. Elizabeth R. says:

My style is very casual, even when I dress up. Very flowy, loose fitting, and easy to move in so that I can keep up with my girls!

my style has differed as my body has changed with pregnancies and life in general. i guess my style is now more casual as it needs to be with two kids to run round after but i do love to accessorize with nice jewelry and the slightly unique clothing items. i can see how this dress could be very versatile both as a casual or a more dressy item. love it.

  154. Melissa jones says:

    I love this pattern!

  155. Lillia says:

I love classy with a touch of romance. When I was younger I loved the preppy look, penny Loafers and Oxford shirts were my go to pieces. Now I enjoy ruffle or lace shirts and ballet flats. I love this pattern!

  156. oooh, gorgeous. I have a pretty casual style (but I love to dress up, if I have an occasion, which is pretty rare these days!)… I would LOVE to incorporate more vintage styles into my wardrobe, though!

  157. Serena says:

I’m kind of a mish-mash, but I love the ’40s and tend toward anything reminiscent of that decade.

  158. Bonnie R says:

I like classic with a twist. I work in an office so can’t get too crazy, but I love unusual accessories and shoes! I love me some shoes :) This dress pattern would fit right in at my office!!

  159. Bonnie Larson says:

Love the pattern. Thanks so much for sharing

  160. Meg says:

I’m usually more of a casual girl… always bright colors!

  161. I only dress up for church on Sunday; unless I’m behind on laundry and my skirts are clean. But I like pretty colors in my practical duds, and I avoid the frumpy, dumpy homeschool mom look whenever possible.

  162. Heather says:

I love vintage, but I’m not full-on all-vintage-all-the-time. I also love a bit of flowy hippie-ness, and adore quirky things like a bicycle-print shirtdress, or electric blue tights. I do like to be more dressed up than jeans and a logo t-shirt though, I guess that is my throughline!

  163. Jen V says:

This dress is lovely! I’ve traditionally been quite casual but lately I’ve been drawn to vintage looks that have endured the test of time. Whatever the look, I like to keep it cohesive and flattering.

  164. Shannon P says:

Oh man I love this pattern. I guess I would have to describe my style as eclectic…some trends I like and follow and some I do not. I love to wear clothes that are comfortable and cute, not frumpy. And I am attracted to bold colors and patterns!

  165. Amber! says:

My style is simple and classy. But, most importantly, comfortable. :)

  166. Judy says:

I mostly go with a casual style but I do love the vintage look.

  167. Victoria M says:

Eclectic! My life has too many different moving parts to have just one look.

  168. Amy G says:

I have a sort of eclectic style, and I love vintage clothes. This dress looks amazing!

  169. Rosemarie says:

I love this dress!! I’m usually a casual person but when I sew I tend to go towards the dressier, classy items. This fits that bill!

  170. Jennie says:

I don’t have one particular style, I just like to wear something that helps me to feel good. I absolutely love to accessorize! This is a beautiful dress pattern!

  171. Michelle says:

To enter a chance to win the above pattern: I like classic styles – dresses to the knee with an A-skirt for easy movability, in case I have to take off running in moments of great need. I also prefer sleeves on my dresses – I just don’t think my arms are very attractive looking, and I get cold easily. My preferential styling is one of simplicity that can be dressed up with accessories or dressed down with a pair of nice-looking sneakers, maybe my retro volleyball ones from Mexico ;)

  172. I love vintage-inspired dresses best, but sometimes I go modern. :)

  173. Melissa says:

I love a classic, tailored look!

  174. Renee says:

I go for casual, comfy and easy!

  175. Mama Lusco says:

I love a classy casual look for everyday but love vintage, feminine dresses too.

  176. Jenna says:

I love vintage styles!! This pattern has been on my wish list!

  177. Sarah R says:

I definitely keep it pretty casual, but I love dresses and skirts, just nothing fussy.

  178. Jenny says:

Definitely casual. All my formal wear went out of the window when I retired.

  179. ParisGrrl says:

I think I’d classify it as classic with a twist.:-)

  180. Stacy Wright says:

Daughters just started taking an interest in vintage clothes! Spending time in dusty thrift stores hearing them complain is paying off.

  181. Natalie says:

I like the casual look. This dress pattern could be made to look either casual or dressy depending on fabric choice. Love it!
